Defenders Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Chris Smalling are doubts for Manchester United's Champions League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The trio, as well as Marouane Fellaini, missed training on Monday.
The midfielder has been troubled with a back problem
and is doubtful but Shinji Kagawa could be available after missing the
loss to Newcastle through illness.
United have qualified for the knockout stages but need a point on Tuesday to secure top spot in their group.
Even though victory is not essential for United's
European hopes, manager David Moyes will be hoping for a win over the
Ukrainian team after a torrid week.
Recent defeats by
Everton
and
Newcastle
in the Premier League saw the reigning champions suffer back-to-back home losses for the first time since 2002.
And victory for Shakhtar at Old Trafford, which would
be their first in England, would ensure Mircea Lucescu's team would
overtake United at the top of Group A.
In response to whether he would rest players for the
tie, Moyes said: "There's a little bit of that in my thinking but we've
also got one or two injuries that I'll need to look after and that comes
into my consideration."
Should Moyes opt for his strongest line-up Wayne Rooney
and Robin van Persie could spearhead United's attack for the first time
in a month.
Rooney, 28, is available after missing Saturday's match against Newcastle through suspension.
"With a player of Wayne's calibre we can go from
strength to strength and become even better than we are now," Van
Persie, who returned from injury against Newcastle, told MUTV.
"It is important that this partnership is growing and becoming even stronger."
